What yanks my chain is when a YouTube account that has ONE (1) video of Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan when they were in Dave's band, duelling onstage, the ONLY Vai video, and over 100 videos of the late, great Shawn Lane, and over that ONE video, without warning, without even asking WillJay to take th...

Regarding Under It All, I think of it as more of a thing that we choose our destiny by our actions (or inactions). The nun has been helping people all of her life because she apparently feels like she owes life something for letting her little brother die when she was 12. The gal that at 12 years ol...

There's also a song called "Bulgarian Bulge" done by Don Ellis and his big band in 1971, in the meter of 33 and smokin' peppery hot stuff! For that matter, the whole live, 2-disc recording of "Tears of Joy" is quite phenomenal. Only the last track, written by a member of Don's band, is in a common t...

If you're into musicians from the west playing carnatic Indian music with Indian percussionists & singer, check out the DVD "Paris". Guitarist Shawn Lane & Swedish bass guitarist Jonas Hellborg join the Vinayakram Brothers (kanjeera, ghatam & vocals) for a gig in Paris, France.

A friend of mine said that there was a grey whale swimming very close to the Seattle Aquarium, which is just down the hill from the venue that Steve & The Breed played at. Maybe it was drawn by the very positive vibes being generated by two concerts going on at the same time by two of the more spiri...

The first thing that I have to say is that it’ll be a long time until I see a concert the quality of performance and the coolness, the oneness, and the downright pleasure in being where they’re at and doing what they’re doing that I experienced last night. Eric’s a superb player with the stage prese...

Very few songs have affected me the way "I'm Your Secrets" has. It's an awesome song, and my favorite on the CD.

(I'd love to expound more on it, but I don't want to make waves and irritate those of different persuasions. Discretion is the better part of valor.)

Tori will be playing a concert in Seattle the same night as Steve's (4/22), less than 2 blocks away from where Steve & The Breed will be playing.

From a different forum (The Memphis Monster): I tortured GC this weekend. Me: Hey! Can you tell me what is included in a setup. GC: We look over everything and make sure it's intonated and everything. Me: What is everything? GC: We make sure everything is tight and working? Me: Tight? What do you me...

"Under It All" is so deep! I listened to it twice in a row on the bus to work, and will listen to it again on the way home, this time with the lyrics at hand. The music is awesome, but the concept, the lyrics, they blow me away!

The entire CD is absolutely tantalizing, but my personal favorite is "I'm Your Secrets". Sure, Freak Show Excess is phenomenal, and Building The Church is fantastic, but "I'm Your Secrets" just does it for me. Every Time!
