These hearos sound good. I remember going to see Nuno Bettencourt...for the opening act I took my foam earplugs out for the guitar solos, and left them out for Nuno because, as mentioned in the hearos ad, they killed all the hi's. These hearos look like a good alternative.

Re: DVD

The commentary was fun, though Steve will insult you at the end if you listen to the whole thing, but I think he was just kidding. How do you figgure that? "You are either out of your mind... or very dedicated. In either case, we salute you". Perhaps you heard something else? I was just kidding...I...

DVD

I thought the DVD was great. The commentary was fun, though Steve will insult you at the end if you listen to the whole thing, but I think he was just kidding. Interestingly, in that commentary, Steve expresses a certain amount of frustration with the camera crew and laments not having a pre-product...

Star Spangled Banner

In the late 80's or early 90's, Steve performed the Star Spangled Banner at MTV's Rock-n-Jock charity softball game. I never did see it, but heard it was awesome. Anyone know if it's available anywhere?

NICE

Of course! How could we forget Keagy and Kaiser?!?! I saw Glenn last summer...great stuff. Keagy is great too...though I've only recently started listening to him...shame on me.

As for Adam Jones...uh, who's he?

yeah

I agree with everyone mentioned. I do think The Edge is generally overlooked as a guitar player. Certainly U2 the band is not overlooked, but I feel like The Edge doesn't get a ton of recognition for his abilities. I was glad someone mentioned CC too. It seems slamming CC was the cool thing to do am...

This is tough...

but I gotta go with P&W. When Passion and Warfare came out, instrumental guitar rock records were fairly popular (relatively speaking of course :? ) Shrapnel was goign strong with Friedman, Becker, MacAlpine etc...and there was Satch and Eric Johnson as well. Now, as for the Shrapnel guys...they cou...

Most under-rated guitarist...

Hey All, I'm new to the forum, but a long time Vai fan. Anyway, I'm wondering who you all consider to be very good guitarists but not ones that get mentioned with the likes of Vai, Satch etc. For example, Mick Mars of Motley Crue. Motley didn't write spectacular guitar songs, but you can take any ra...
