Saying JP has got more technique than Vai is just stupid! 1: No, John uses more techniques(way of producing notes on the guitar) than Steve. So that is not a stupid statement. It's a plain cold objective thing, it doesn't contain any artistic or emotional factor. 2: Asking "who's the better one" is...

I was in heaven to be exact  But seriously My friends Dad got the G3(The one in Minneapolis) DVD and I briefly saw Steve Vai and asked what song it was, and he told me it was for the love of god. I immediately was interested, and got the album. I played For the Love of God, and it completely bl...

Re: Bad Horsie tapping section fingering

Ok, this is totally by last resort, but im sure many others could make intense use of this. I was wondering if anyone knew, or has figured out an efficient fingering for the tapping bits of the Bad Horsie solo. I've been trying to learn it for the past couple of days but my fingers keep intertwinin...

Well, my picking technique is pretty darn good, bit Im not a big fan of just linear picked runs. I prefer legato and maybe a little picking thrown in.

...when Vai plays i know you're here, the solo bit that just goes up and down the neck and doesnt sound higher or lower, i doubt that's 8 notes a second, or it is but more 8 is just not healthy. do you mean the sweeping part or the part right before it where he plays the same note all over the neck...

Haha, me too. I love looking at peoples hands to see how "cool" they are.
I love long slender hands like Steve for some reason. Once you start playing guitar you notice weird things like that.

Long, balding hair is not cool. He looks better without hair anyway.

steves fingers are LONG!!! its just the stretch you mean, i cant hit 12th fret 6th string easy at all standing but practice will make it come well. All guitar and no play make Stevie's fingers long and frey. Yeah.. His fingers are so bony too... Theyre like alien fingers!!! I didnt understand the s...

I have the Weeping Demon by Ibanez...
Its not bad, but there are definitely better pedals. Ive never actually tried the Bad Horsie. I wonder if its any good?

You could always try modding your Wah pedal. I hear its not too complicated. And, it can make even crappy pedals sound good.

Thanks guys...

Ive noticed putting the guitar at a more vertical angle helps the left hand...
But the guitar keeps sliding down... Maybe I need a better strap?
Also my right hand has trouble picking while its in the vertical position...
Should I rework my technique?
